“Do You Really Need this?”
My home office was cluttered with years of unattended personal and work-related papers, files and stuff, and Carolyn was an amazing assist in getting it all organized. She thinned out all my files (about 10 recycling bins worth of paper) by asking the great question, “Do you really need this? Now, all my files are color coded, labeled, and alphabetized. My drawers are in order and I can find what I need when I need it. I now feel lighter, less burdened, more organized and in control in my own office. And she is a great listener and conversationalist as well.

Carolyn at Unencumbered is a wonderful support when it comes to organization and clearing out the clutter. Even in this time of social distancing, or especially because I live in Denver and she is in San Francisco, she takes the time to understand my unique clutter and organizational challenges, and works with me to help me take control of my spaces and eliminate clutter and chaos. We have had regular video chat coaching sessions and each time she celebrates the progress and advises on how to best tackle the next challenge. She is always supportive and never judgmental, and I have accomplished more in a few short weeks working with her than in all the years of having it on my To-Do list.

Gets The job done
I highly recommend Carolyn! My goal was to get my paperwork organized so I could prepare my taxes. Carolyn was non-judgemental about my full year’s worth of mail. We tackled the project easily. Carolyn rolls up her sleeves and gets the job done. I am no longer stressed out about the paper piles. Overall, working with Carolyn made me feel more calm and less stressed!

Firm but Kind
I have read Marie Kondo—too extreme for my years of “collecting.” I needed someone by my side or at least in the same room. Carolyn was persuasive, firm but kind when I just couldn’t let go of family memorabilia or clothes from another era. We accomplished much more than I would have been able to do on my own. She was great at pointing out why duplicates could be given a new home elsewhere. I will definitely use her services again.

Carolyn Honig is an awesome organizer, downsizer, and all around excellent woman to help pull a Move or reorganize a desk, kitchen, office, closet…She’s a native San Franciscan so she knows the ropes. I highly recommend her to the community and beyond.

I had Carolyn Honig at my house to help me organize after back surgery. She is a dynamo and gets things done but in a very gentle and pleasant way. She really helped me to get stuff in boxes to DONATE, GIVE TO FRIENDS, and TOSS IN RECYCLE or LANDFILL. Made the process much easier than it was with family members! Contact her for sure if you want help without stress.

My amazing sister has been helping friends and family organize their homes (closets, files, pantries, etc.) for some time. I have found her support and guidance invaluable.
She is now ready to help others, too. Carolyn is reliable, patient, efficient, and an excellent problem solver. She saved me especially over the past year and a half while I’ve been going through many transitions in my life. Reach out to her to set up a consult.
